Literature of Ancient Israel at IPS HomeThis is a featured page

This wiki is the work of students in “Literature of Ancient Israel,” Fall 2009, at Loyola University Chicago’s Institute of Pastoral Studies.

The wiki should accomplish two things:
  • First and foremost, it should be a collaboratively-built source of information for the fullness of our subject matter: Hebrew Bible, and biblical studies relating to Hebrew Bible. Pages and sections might be written on the content and structure of biblical texts (Exodus, the Latter Prophets), on topics in Hebrew Bible studies (the Priestly Writer, narrative criticism), on periods of biblical history (the history of the northern kingdom Israel, the emergence of the people Israel in the highlands).
  • Second, it should serve as a resource for course participation. For example, there may be areas that act as “study tables” or in some similar way allow students to help one another do well in the course.
